A Bed Liner That Protects Your Ford Truck Bed

It doesn’t matter if you own a  F 150, F250 Super Duty, or the F 350 Super duty ,choosing a new plastic bed liner for your Ford truck bed makes for an interesting project. That’s true because the bed liners have some things about them that make it possible to damage a bed with the liner instead of protecting the bed. That could cause more harm than you could ever guess would happen. Here are a few things to think about.

Plugged drain holes under a bed liner spell trouble. A plugged drain hole is bad enough any time but if it happens under a liner you might not ever know If that condition persists over time it’s almost for sure going to be an expensive problem. That’s why the liner should be designed so it won’t trap water. Also the bed liner should be easy to remove if you need to inspect operation of the drains and making sure there not plugged up.

The heavy plastic used to make liners is almost impossible to damage. That means for really hard use the plastic option is among the best. Impact damage is one expensive repair if you had to shell out the money to fix that damage you would not be happy.

But be careful because there is a way that the bed paint can disappear out of your truck bed so make sure that you get a bed liner that fits right a custom fit bed liner like a dualliner bed liner is a great way to make sure that your bed paint won’t disappear on you. Otherwise the wind whipping by the liner starts a vibration. That movement of the liner leads certainly to friction and wear of the underlying paint. Wear the paint away and the liner just did more harm than good. Especially coupled with water under the liner, friction damage starts and corrosion happens and the next thing will be rust and that could be the end of your truck bed.

There are a few alternatives to the typical plastic one size fits all bed liners.

A multiple piece liner and or a custom fit liner can fix all of these problems. That way the liner can be made to fit the bed more closely and made to drain easier too. Make sure the liner you pick for your truck is a good fit and make sure it won’t trap water. Check to be sure the liner is the right fit to avoid water damage and noise. A Dualliner bed liner combines the advantages of a 3/8” thick zero skid rubber truck bed mat with tough plastic side walls the dualliner bed liner is not like the typical drop in bed liner it is made to with stand anything you can put in your truck bed. The dualliner will keep your truck bed looking new and your paint looking fresh for years to come.

Is the DualLiner as Tough as Your Ford?

Ford F250 - This truck needs a DualLiner Truck bed liner Built Ford tough, that really has a ring to it. Ford has got a whole lot of history in the USA, all the way back from the model T up to some of the toughest pick ups on the market today I love FORD.

If you buy a Ford F150, F250, F350, F450 or a Raptor you are going to pay upwards of $20,000, well worth the price if you ask me. So you are going to want to protect that investment. First thing when I buy a new truck is buying a bed liner. Bed liners are probably the most important aftermarket truck accessory you could buy for your pick-up. Your truck is built Ford tough, you need a bed liner that can stand up and be as tough as your rig and the cargo you are going to be hauling.

Spray-ons and drop ins are alright, I’ve had both in the past being that I buy a new or nearly new truck every two or so years, but what really protects your truck’s bed the best? Believe me when I say that if your cargo slides around in your bed when you are driving around town, you are going to end up with damage. I have recently come across the DualLiner truck bed liner and I love it. DualLiner is the best bedliner that I have ever owned, and for less than $400 with a lifetime warranty, how can you go wrong.

The DualLiner truck bed liner is a 5 piece bed liner, which is basically a combination of a drop-in and a rubber mat. DualLiner took the best features of the drop in bed liner, which is its dent resistance, and combined it with a zero skid rubber mat to hold your cargo in place. It’s 5 piece design keeps the bed liner fitting and in place so there will be no damage to your nice factory Ford truck bed.

Don’t be fooled by the competition, a spray on installer such as line-x is actually going to scuff sand and grind your truck bed before they adhere their product to your truck’s bed. I don’t know about you, but I’m not letting anyone take a go at my Ford truck with a grinder.

We all know that time is money, that being said, this makes it pretty simple to figure out which bed liner is the easiest to install. Obviously the one that takes the least amount of time would be a definite contender. A “Do It Yourself” bed liner is a bed liner or chemical compound that the end user is installing to give the trucks bed additional protection.  Some of these DIY bed liners can take several hours to apply and several days to cure. There is even one DIY bed liner that takes 3-4 hours of prep (preparation) time and then 2 days between coats, there is a base coat that takes 2 hours on average to apply then you have to wait a day to apply the first protective layer, then 2 days later you can apply the second coat, and if another coat is needed then 2 days after that you can apply the third coat. If you choose this particular DIY bed liner you would probably be very unhappy about the amount of time this process takes. Especially when you find out that it only offers limited scratch protection and almost no dent protection.

The History Of Bed Liners.

When you think about bed liners, it is hard not to think about the truck that the bed liner is in. That is because they really go together. Most truck owners have some sort of bed liner in their current truck. If you go way back in history, back to the mid 1920′s, this is close to when the truck showed up on Dealers lot’s. I found very little items for sale that protected the trucks bed, part of the reason for this, was due to fact that they used wood planks as the floor of the bed. I would imagine that if your cargo scratched up the finish of the wood planks that they could be sanded down and refinished or you could replace them if the damage was to much.

The Ford Of Bed Liners!

The History of Ford is buried deep in innovation and common sense answers to consumers wants and needs. Henry Ford knew the value of a dollar and he knew the how Americans would value affordable transportation. Each and every successful vehicle that Ford produced was targeted to the masses, at a price that everyone could afford. You might be wondering how that translates into a bed liner, well it is pretty obvious once you do a little research. In the bed liner market place today there are several different types. In most of Ford’s history they had several other competitors as well, but what Ford did was set themselves apart from the competition. Buying your bedliner

Bedliners are really essential these days. If you are hauling a lot of cargo, or if you just want to maintain the surface of the bed of your truck and your trucks resale value, you will simply have to install some type of bedliner. There are so many different brands of bedliners out there, it can be a tough decision, so lets breakdown some of the advantages and disadvantages.

Drop-in bedliners are one option available to you. While these bedliners are fairly rugged, they tend to crack and fade over time. This can be a major problem, as cracking will allow moisture to become trapped in the area between the bed of your truck, and this will produce pitting in your paint and eventually rusting of your truck beds surface. These types of liners are not shippable, as they are an extremely large item. This means you will need to find an authorized dealer locally and pay them an additional fee to install it. Most times, with drop-in bedliners, the liner itself may need to be cut in a sort of ‘retro-fit’ to make the install look clean. This is because they a generic mold for the production that only loosely fits the shape of the bed of your truck. These can carry a hefty price tag as well, and, after installation and taxes, can take a healthy bite out of your wallet.

Spray-on bedliners are composed of several, usually highly toxic chemicals, that are mixed with some sort of granule substance, to make a rough surface. This type of bedliner does provide some mild slippage protection, but, when you have to stop really short for whatever reason, be sure that your load will move around quite a bit, and can even result in damage to your truck. Spray-ins are installed by first entirely removing the finished surface of the bed of your truck, which means that should the integrity of the liner ever be jeopardized, it will leave the bare metal surface of your truck bed exposed to the elements. This will almost surely start the rusting process, and, once it’s started, it’s nearly impossible to stop. Some spray-in companies offer a type of warranty, but they will never pay you for damage caused to your pickup as a direct result of their products lack of bed protection.

There are now on the market a new type of ‘hybrid’ bedliner system. One such bedliner is the DualLiner. The people at DualLiner have thought of everything. Worried about your cargo slipping around? They have a zero-skid surface that makes sure that your load doesn’t go anywhere. Worried about getting debris trapped between the liner and your truck bed? DualLiner is fully removable, so you can clean under the entire surface! Worried about cracking and fading? That’s a thing of the past with DualLiner’s patented UV protectant additive that insures your poly sidewalls are protected from the suns harmful rays. The best thing about the DualLiner is that you can remove it and your truck bed will still be in the same condition as the day you bought it, even after years of rough use! Everything you need to install the dualliner comes directly your door, and it usually ships the same day you order it. Check out bed liner from dualliner today!

There are several different options available in truck bedliners. Two of the most important things to consider when you buy a bedliner are: how it protects your truck, and how it protects you. Load safety is very important, as anyone who has hauled a high-dollar item will tell you. However, of more importance is safety to your physical self. In this article we will discuss the different options that are available to you.

Bedrugs have been around for ages, and had been the only option before the wide-spread use of drop-in and spray-in liners. A bedrug is basically a material of some sort, anything from outdoor carpet to matting, that is pre-cut to the shape of the bed of your truck. They provide for a moderate level of protection against slippage, but they will fail when real speed is applied, and can even slip out of the bed entirely. There have also been incidences of loads coming through the cab of the truck using these systems. All in all, if you’re going to be hauling loads frequently, this is not the choice for you. Dirt and sand get trapped easily between the bed and the bedrug, and it’s also a magnet for moisture, which will produce rust very quickly on an unfinished surface. This will harm the resale value of your truck greatly. These types of bedliners are also shippable, which means no installation fee.

Another option you may consider is a drop-in bedliner. Drop-in bedliners are usually made of a ridgid plastic material, and molded to loosely conform to the shape of the bed of your truck. One very prevalent issue with drop-in bedliners is fading and cracking. If you do have one installed, and you live in an area that gets any type of sun in the summer, look forward to heavy cracking and fading. As with all ridgid plastic materials, after a year or so of constant exposure to the elements it will begin to become brittle. When loading heavy loads with a drop-in take great care as they can crack extremely easily and do damage to the bed of your truck. They do provide decent drainage, until they are cracked or broken. Then, the moisture collects very heavily and will stagnate under the liner, producing rust and dangerous microbial growth. These bedliners also can not be shipped without extremely exorbitant fees, so you will have to pay someone to install it.

The third, and probably the most damaging to the bed of your truck, is the spray-in bedliner. The major hang-up with these bedliners is that they will void the paint warranty on your truck. In order to install one, you have to remove the factory paint to the metal from all areas where it will be applied. Take a look at this video:

As you can see, installation of one of these bedliners causes nearly irreparable damage to the bed of your truck. This wouldn’t be that big of an issue, if it weren’t for the fact that they also crack and produce a bubbling with prolonged use. Once there is a crack or bubble, you are now exposing bare metal to water and the elements, which produces an astonishing amount of rust fairly quickly. There have been instances where a shotty spray-in bedliner install can reduce the value of a vehicle by as much as $4000. There is also absolutely no way to ship this bedliner to your door, it requires expensive equipment and tools to install, so you will need to hire someone to install it for you at an authorized retailer. Be aware that although some spray-in bedliner companies offer a sort of warranty, coverage of that warranty can prove hard to obtain and can often make the condition of your truck bed worse than before the patch job. While these liners do provide a certain amount of no-slip, when speeds or stopping is excessive and on certain loads they can fail miserably.

The fourth product I would like to talk about is called the DualLiner. The DualLiner is the best of all the worlds. The bottom is composed of a 3/8″ thick rubber floor, that’s channeled to conform to the factory channeling of your truck. This means water drains exactly as it would with no bedliner installed at all. The sides, tailgate, and front pieces are composed of a composite material that is tooled to fit your specific model of truck exactly. The 3/8″ thick floor locks into the molded panels, insuring a perfect fit every time. This also makes it very easy to remove the rubber floor and clean your truck bed. With a DualLiner, you can get the maximum resale value for your truck, even after years of tough truck bed usage. One of the best things about these bedliners, is that they ship directly to your door. Everything comes in one nice box via UPS right to your door. DualLiner also incorporates their Zero-Skid technology into their product, making it almost impossible to experience any type of load slippage. Watch this comparison video:

The material that they’ve used for the DualLiner will not crack or fade, and if it does, they back it with the only real lifetime warranty in the industry. They stand behind their product 100%, and their customer service is a delight to deal with. Weighing all the options, for maximum load security and resale value of your truck, the DualLiner is the only way to go.
